To write a good essay, it is important to know and understand all the features of the genre. You can create an interesting essay only if you follow all the principles and recommendations presented below.

    Choosing a topic
Usually, professors give students a list of topics to choose from, of which only one needs to be chosen. But, in some universities, only a general direction is given, and students have to choose a suitable topic on pro-papers review. To choose the right topic, the first thing to do is to determine which audience the essay should be designed for. This can be teachers, an academic committee, or employers. In the case of professors, it is important to determine in advance by what criteria the text will be evaluated. The author must be competent in the chosen topic, and with the help of the text demonstrate to the examiner such qualities as originality, literacy and professionalism. If the instructor does provide a list of topics, it is better to choose the one in which you have a certain knowledge and which seems most interesting to you. If the role of the examiner is performed by the employer, the author of the essay in the text should reflect such qualities as sincerity, humanity, as well as individuality.

Where does the work on the essay begin?
Often people who have enough eloquence and are able to express their thoughts well do not know where to start an essay. Thinking too long about the beginning weakens the author’s enthusiasm and overshadows the creative process. So how to start an essay correctly:

Before you take up writing an essay, you need to formulate an idea, determine the main purpose of the written work, and select quality sources.
You can use the technique of freewriting, that is, free writing. The essence of the method is to describe all the thoughts that come into your head, without watching for grammar and punctuation. This method is often used by writers who can not overcome the creative crisis.
No need to dwell on the introductory part. You can start writing the main part right away, and then, with a clear understanding of the main idea of the essay, write the introduction.
Some experts recommend starting an essay with a question that will be answered in the text.
    Writing an essay plan
You don’t need to try to make a perfect plan right away, because it’s simply impossible to do.

Especially since in the course of the work, the plan will be repeatedly edited. Frankly speaking, making a plan is not necessary at all, because it is the absence of restrictions and rigid frameworks that is the main advantage of this type of writing. If the author is a supporter of working according to a plan, then it is certainly possible to make one.

First of all, it is necessary to write the main thoughts of the essay – they just will perform the role of paragraphs of the plan. Then, each point should be broken down into several more sub-paragraphs.

At the end, you need to reread the plan and make sure that each of its points is detailed enough and the structure is logical and concise

What does the structure of an essay consist of?
As a rule, an essay consists of three main parts:

Introductory part – an essay is one of the varieties of written works, and all of them, as we know, contain an introductory part or an introduction. The introductory part should interest the reader and make him or her read the article to the end. The introduction should necessarily contain the formulation of the problem, a rhetorical question or a quotation. It is important that the reader immediately understand what the essence of the problem at hand.
The main part – in this section it is necessary to give several points of view, as well as to touch upon the history of the problem. As a rule, the main part consists of several sub-paragraphs. And the subparagraphs, in turn, consist of three sections: the thesis, justification and subconclusion.
Conclusion – the main task of this section is to combine the conclusions of each thesis presented in the main part. It is necessary to present everything so that the reader, based on the arguments presented, will come to a single logical conclusion. If the purpose of the introduction – to interest the reader, the main task of the conclusion – to cause certain emotions in the reader and encourage him to think.
